Time for some updates on life and whatnot. Been working mostly and trying to get student loan stuff worked out for law school. I will not be living on campus as it turns out. The prices they gave me turned out to cost about the same as staying where I am now, but I would have less space and I would be living on UH campus. I decided to keep my current apartment.
I started exercising regularly. I managed to exercise every day through the entire month of April. May has been not quite as productive in terms of exercise. This is partly due to the fact that I started dating someone at the end of April and I hate to interrupt a perfectly good afternoon with him to go do yoga or whatever. It's also partly due to a persistent head cold which made me not want to move around that much. I still have a bit of a cough that I can't shake. I'm still working out about 4-5 times a week though.
I've been trying to cook for myself more often. I've never really been a great cook and I've always relied on tv dinners and whatnot. The challenge of teaching myself to cook is not helped by the fact that the oven in my apartment is from 1978 and the only temperatures it has are 200, 400 and 500 degrees. There is no in between. Therefore, if something is supposed to be cooked at 325 degrees, I have to decide whether to cook it hotter for less time or cooler for more time. Also, I tend to do stupid stuff like overfill the pot of water when I'm making ravioli so it boils over. Basically, it's been an adventure, but the smoke alarm has not been set off yet and no one has gotten food poisoning so I think I'm doing well.
Also been playing Rock Band a lot. Especially the drums. I'm starting to develop delusions of grandeur and I think that I could play the actual drums and not be half bad. I realize playing around on a Guitar Hero controller is nothing like playing a guitar, but banging on some fake drums can't be that different from banging on real drums, can it?
I just finished reading Rant by Chuck Palahniuk. I highly recommend it. Other books I've read recently that I recommend include:
Getting Stoned with Savages - Maarten Troost
Hot Zone - Richard Preston
Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris
Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde (and really the rest of the Thursday Next series too, I'm currently re-reading it.)
Ok. That's all I got. Now I'm off to find something to occupy the rest of my day at work.

I'm in a snit with Jasper Fforde at the moment, since the new book is not a Thursday Next and it isn't coming out until December. On the bright side, US TOUR DATES!
